Body Scan Shenanigans

As part of a fitness program sponsored by the city, I had a body scan done today. The results were interesting. So much of the conclusions were based on averages and not my body, per se. While you can see some of my ab muscles now, this result had me at morbidly obese. Hmmm. Yes, I’d like to lose a few pounds, but according to their calculations, I will only be at 10% fat when I get down to 180 pounds. I’m not sure that’s even possible, since I can show a full six pack at 195. It was interesting, and they will offer another scan in 60 days, so I look forward to the results.

My love of wrestling…

For the past few years, I’ve really enjoyed the carny aspect of pro-wrestling: how they get you to care about a feud, how the get you to hate certain performers and cheer others, and just how compelling a match can be- even when we all know that the outcome is predetermined.

Recently, I attended a taping of Monday Night Raw with my sister, Liz. We had a blast cheering the faces and booing the heels. This was truly performance art executed on a very high level.

Snowpocalypse 2017

This is the most snow I’ve seen in Portland since I moved here more than a decade ago. Chains are required on all cars, so I’m not driving. Today, I strapped on some snowshoes and went for a walk around the golf course. It was such a lovely adventure.

First Post

There always needs to be a beginning, so this is it. Years ago, I had a blog- but not a whole lot to say. Now I have a lot to say, but I’ll try to keep most of it to this format. I’m optimistic that I can express myself here.
